I was washing my van which I have not done in a long time. Since it is white, the dirt is harder to take off. It takes a lot more time washing and as it was getting late and I’ve been bit by horseflies for a good while, I had to stop. But it is still not as clean as I want it to be.
No matter how good we clean our vehicles, it will get dirty again. That is why we should do it regularly. But the hustle and bustle of life plus the “I can do it tomorrow” attitude always prevent me from doing so.
It is the same way with our spiritual walk. No matter how much we try to get clean, the dirt of sin always mar our faith. We need to cleanse ourselves through confessing our sins to God and to the person we have wronged if any.
This is a great post on spiritual cleansing by Eileen over at In God Alone. She writes on what cleansing looks like, and the benefits of our confessing sin to God which leads to peace and a better life for us as Believers.
