ObamaCare is Not a Mistake – Just a Glitch!

Written by Lyle Rapacki

Got your attention didn’t I?  Actually there is no mistake in the title proclaiming ObamaCare is Not a Mistake – Just a Glitch! ObamaCare is the Law, and the Marxists in elected offices all over the country are delighted; albeit, embarrassed over the celebrated roll-out of their long awaited (50-years in the making) land mark legislation to remake America into just another European-style socialist country.  Remember when Hillary Clinton tried this same deception years ago with husband Bill…HillaryCare didn’t have the sex appeal as a cool, youthful, unknown, first-time Black President who promised the young of America all sorts of free stuff on a silver platter if they would but just follow him without question.  They did!  Many “mature” and enlightened Christians did, too.  Oh…and let’s not forget those Christians who were so spiritually-minded to not vote in the last election because Romney was not a Christian.  Some 15-18-million Evangelical Christians chose to not vote for that reason; now there was wisdom and discernment! I wonder where we would be today if those 15-18-million non-voting Christians, voted?!  Even the “time-honored” tradition of Democrat Ballot Stuffing would have been hard pressed to beat those numbers.  But I digress.

ObamaCare is the well-planned program to appear magnanimous to all by Marxists who have finally been able to come out from the shadows in full regalia with Obama and crew.  Make no mistake to what is happening before your eyes; strong Communist ideologues who despise America in every manner are in positions of power and have long awaited their self-professed destiny to destroy this Nation.  Those placed in positions of great and far-reaching influence at the highest echelons of our government have promoted an illusion to the masses, but in reality, behind the curtain, they have not deviated from their purpose to transform America into a broken country incapable of exerting much positive influence any longer in the world.  ObamaCare is but one platform by which they intend to accomplish their goal.  The wolves are in the pen, and the sheep are in real trouble.  Marianne Bernard, who also authors columns for Vine of Life News, wrote about this in one of her recent articles: “Should Christians Be Concerned?” (Posted on 11/01/2013)   Christians should be concerned because the fundamental transformation of not only this Nation but the church at-large is taking place, even by the same crowd who push the levers of secular politics.  Man is quickly becoming no longer willing to listen to sound teaching but only to have his ears tickled with niceties as the apostle Paul forewarned (I Timothy 4:1-2).  The church as a force for good, a source of light to an otherwise darkening world is being neutered much like our Nation’s military, economy, culture, heritage, and values.  All of these happenings also are part of the orchestrated agenda to recreate America into a country it was never intended to become by those who despise Christ and the foundations of this once Judeo-Christian Nation.  Followers of Christ need to find their collective voices NOW!  Those who know and declare Yeshua (Jesus) as Lord need to buckle around their waist the Truth of the Gospel and begin declaring it clearly and unashamedly, put on the breastplate of God’s Righteousness, bind their feet with the Readiness that comes from the Good News of God’s Word, pick-up the shield of Trust in the One who will allow you to extinguish the flaming arrows of the Evil One, strap the helmet of Deliverance on your head, and then grab the sword of the Spirit of the Living Lord – El Gibbor (the Almighty God).  The wolves have been circling the yard for quite a while, kept at bay on many occasions, but now have boldly come into proximity with sheep who still have no clue as to what to expect. Stunning!

With the advent of full implementation of ObamaCare comes the gateway to the New-World Order (yes, this is part of the diabolical hidden agenda with the nicer named Affordable Health Care Act).  ObamaCare is purposefully intended to destroy our country’s economy, our country’s insurance and health-care industries and the myriad of related businesses associated with both, impose restrictions you have never known (employee hours cut to less than 30-hours per week), gather personal information in ways and depths you cannot imagine, wreck financial havoc on families, and bring severe divisive tears to the very fabric of our culture just to name a few examples.  Those implementing this agenda have intentionally derailed any reasonable discussions by those who oppose this Marxist plan; they have promoted hatred and even bigotry, and they have successfully scared many into silence.

The many absolutely embarrassing glitches associated with the introduction of this Marxist program may be laughable to some, but it remains a moment (I believe presented by God) to show scores of folks they have been seduced.  Misled with utter misrepresentation of details, this is a moment to shine light into a dark cavern and expose the evil lurking behind smooth words, glitzy slogans, and empty promises; much like the total of the Obama Administration from January 20, 2009.

SURRENDER – An option or not!

By Lyle Rapacki

The American Spirit was born in places like Plymouth Rock, and then Jamestown.  It was in its’ infancy at Philadelphia for the Continental Congress and equally found throughout the 13-colonies.  It matured at Valley Forge, and then moved into adolescence at Bunker Hill, Bull Run, Antioch and Gettysburg.  The American Spirit continued to mature at Flanders Field during WWI; then some more at a number of unknown beaches and places hard to pronounce in WWII.  This same “can do” American Spirit was severely tested in Korea where Americans had to fight frost-bite and blaring horns of the communist army charges, as well as bullets.  The ghastly human experiences among horrendous human torture during the Vietnam War brought further resolve to the famous American Spirit not to give in, not to surrender, not walk away.  Our brave men and women in the military to this day are taught not to surrender but improvise, adapt, overcome.  The vast majority of Americans carry this same resolve regardless of the line of work or profession in which they may be involved.  Our sports teams demonstrate perseverance.  Business owners know all too well the meaning of working longer hours, harder and smarter – to not surrender to the struggles thrown in their pathway to success.  Students are taught and provided the opportunity to try again, work harder, study wiser, and celebrate the success of your labor.  The American Spirit of “Can Do” and “Not Surrender” is alive and well from the birth of our Nation to this present hour of  grave challenges.  This learned behavior is worthy to be studied and emulated on many levels.  Leaders know how to introduce the concepts of not surrendering and persevering to accomplish the stated mission or goal.  I, myself, have taught the Traits of Leadership at the university level, and greatly enjoy the subject of leadership, especially the characteristic of a Servant Leader.  I always included case studies of leaders, and would like to do so now for you.

His name was Paul, and he was born a thinker.  It was not sufficient for him to just experience something he had to comprehend its nuances to develop his convictions.  A superb student he even attended university which is quite an accomplishment any time but especially in his day.  He excelled with a mental brilliance and a forceful personality that rose to the challenges of debate.  He became a lawyer and studied under one of the finest legal minds in the land.  A strong lover of athletics, Paul loved the contests between the best of the best, and he absorbed even more the tendency to strive for perfection, endure the hardest of hardships, and finish the task no matter the personal cost.  Like noted athletes, he learned to rely on his training, his experiences, and himself.  Then it happened!  He met a life larger than his own; a power more powerful than his own convictions and strength of will; a brilliance that shined right through him and exposed the blackness inside this otherwise man of  bright accomplishments and rising star.

The apostle Paul was a man of great accomplishments and victories, but as he would share with you…these victories only came when he learned to surrender.  Did you catch that?  The world’s view of success is measured by wealth, position, fame or prominence, maybe education but definitely measured by standards far different than those of the Lord’s.  Our society recognizes and rewards self-made man, and the apostle Paul was well on his way to meet, and even surpass that measure of achievement when he met the Lord on a dusty road, who simply asked Paul, “Why are you persecuting Me?!”  It is impossible to exaggerate what took place in the mind of Paul at that moment of encounter with the Living Christ (I intend to sit with Paul over bagels and coffee in Heaven to discuss the whole experience).   This learned and analytically energetic man had to be “lost” for words, much less understanding as to what just occurred.  So pronounced, this one moment of Paul’s life was perhaps larger than all his previous years strung together!  This single encounter with the Living God, and the revelation that this is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, had to burn so intensely that it might as well have scorched Paul’s eyes of reason and understanding, and burnt the “old-life” up to that moment out of the man now trembling on the ground and unable to utter a single word.  Rather than continuing his journey as a proud and prominent Pharisee with the pomp that initially followed this inquisitor, he instantly became a trembling, groping, clinging to the hand of his guide broken-man, who neither ate nor drank for the next three days.

By his own words, Paul’s life crashed down around him as mere fragments at his feet.  His life, up to the moment of the encounter was solid, complete and getting more complete by the day; a success in every measure of the word.  Now…that which he believed to be a life of perfect service, disciplined, strong and self-reliant was but ashes.  This collision with the Living Christ showed Paul that relying on his own strength was really in vain and born from pride.  I imagine Paul lived in darkness (literally blinded) for three days reviewing his life.  What did he see as he pondered thirty-some years?  How about you?  Close your eyes and look over your life just this past week.  What situations did you face at home or at work, how about in church or with acquaintances and friends?  What about the guy at the traffic light; you know, the one we all pretend isn’t there with his sign asking for assistance. Did you depend on your own education and wisdom; your courage or strength; maybe your prominence; what helped you make the decision you did to act – or not act.  The apostle Paul came away from this majestic encounter with the Living God to declare: “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Galatians 2:20).

My previous postings here on Vine Of Life carried a similar theme as this message; namely, draw close to our Lord while there still is time.  There is a day coming, rather soon, when darkness will cover this Nation like never before seen.  Persecution of man and church will take place, severe economic loss and battles will erupt all across this Land.   Near chaos will be prevalent as tyranny brings persecution and a disrespect for the law of inalienable rights – much like the apostle Paul was bringing the day he had his encounter with Jesus Christ on that dusty road to Damascus.  A New-World Order is on the horizon, a World Order not for the good of mankind but for the good of the few, the Elites who will attempt to reign as gods and kings.  Their day of encounter with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords shall come, but not prior to the havoc they will let loose onto a unsuspecting world.  Do not continue to walk in your own strength.  Surrender your will into the hands of the Lord.  Admit you are afraid of failing in the eyes of the world, tell Him you really do not know how to trust Him who made you.  Paul struggled even after his majestic encounter, but Paul was quicker to submit his will, his training, his life back into the hands of the One who created him.  God created you for this time in history.  He is waiting for you to give Him permission to lead you in every way through the Valley of the Shadows which is right up the road and a little around the bend, and even if you can’t see it just yet be assured it is coming.  If the apostle Paul were here now he would be cheering you on, he would be telling you: “Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my (your) weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me” (in you)(2 Cor. 12:7-10).

The Illuminati October surprise…are You Ready?

Vine of Life News

Vine of Life News note: While I like this video and agree with it, there is a comment from another (not TruthShockTV but another commenter in the video) that states  those who commit suicide including Believers will wind up in hell. I do NOT agree with this statement at all. Otherwise, this is a solid video well worth watching.

A Corrupt and Godless United States: Guaranteed to Fall

Psalm 88:12 Shall Your wonders be known in the dark? And Your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?

The land of forgetfulness…sounds like the U.S. does it not? The dark…there is darkness enough to overwhelm the senses in this country. I do not dislike my country, but I’m also not blind, nor am I stupid. This country (the United States) has fallen so far from what it used to be.

Every form of debauchery is for sale in this country, every evil imaginable makes itself at home here. The elderly, the sick, the weak, the disadvantaged, the mentally unstable…all are preyed upon in the name of profit.

Homosexuality is moving into the mainstream of society, what once was looked down upon, was labeled as wrong is now obtaining legitimacy. Two moms, or two dads in one house are becoming perfectly normal. Benefits previously extended to heterosexual couples only are now commonly being offered to gay couples. Gay marriage is fast becoming acceptable and widely celebrated as the new normal. If you are against gay marriage, or against gay pastors, YOU are considered to be abnormal by many.

Love of Christ is seen as being intolerant while Muslims despite many of them being violent are seen as good. If your worldview is accepting of all religions, except of course Christianity, then you are in the mainstream and are acceptable. Chrislam, the blending of the Muslim faith and Christianity is catching on. This is a very dangerous movement leading Believers into apostasy.

Abortion in this country is rampant. Young girls are taught that if they get pregnant, simply take the morning after pill, and the problem is gone. If that does not do the trick, or the pregnancy is not caught that quickly, simply make a quick visit to an abortion clinic and the baby inside is removed, no fuss no big deal, done and life goes on.

The Church itself is contributing to the downfall of this country with false teachers like Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, Rob Bell, Kenneth Copeland and many others. They teach the prosperity gospel, tickle my ears preaching…great if you want to be lied to and go to church to have a feel good about me session, instead of being taught the truth of God’s Word. The biggest churches in America center their teaching around worthless fluff…no surprise there as the Bible tells us that in the last days that many will fall away, and that people will not have any tolerance for sound Biblical teaching. I do not at all mean all big churches are bad; Greg Laurie and James MacDonald have large congregations and are solid Bible teachers. How about the churches that are accepting homosexuals as pastors? Think God is ok with that?

Violence in this country keeps on rising. Mass shootings in the news are actually becoming routine! We do not need a war; we are busy destroying ourselves from within.

Ethics for many are non-existent…if you want it, get it whatever it takes. Lie to get whatever you want, do whatever it takes to move up the ladder. Cheat, lie, steal, impugn other people’s character, and step on anyone that gets in your way. Hurting others is just part of the game, nothing personal you understand…that is just how things are done.

The U.S. government is of course the best money can buy. Government was intended to be by the people for the people. Well that is not the case; the U.S. government is for those who govern to amass wealth, power and comfort for themselves while serving their true masters the Illuminati at the expense of the common man. The Congress, the courts, and even the Presidency is all one carefully choreographed stage, with all the myriad actors playing their parts while advancing the One World agenda and removing individual rights and freedoms in the name of tolerance and unity.

The U.S. lately has been busted for spying on many other countries and it’s own people, like this has not been known all along. Drones were something used in other countries to ferret out information, even carry out attacks; the U.S. now routinely uses drones right here in the U.S. on it’s own people. The U.S. has built a HUGE data center in Utah…the Utah Data Center is the NSA’s baby. It will be capable of storing vast amounts of data. It will be used for spying on foreign governments and on us…the people of this country. Ever hear of Big Brother? How about the Mark of the Beast? The New World Order is alive and well in the United States…in fact I would say the United States is leading the way. There are many key players in the NWO, and President Obama is one of them.

When, not if…when the U.S. economy collapses that will be all the government needs to seize control of this country in a way previously unprecedented. Marshal law, curfews, ID needed for everything, citizens right to bear arms taken away…and much more will likely become the new norm. The dollar will become worthless, what about those who have cash, or money in the bank? Cash will be worthless, money in the bank; well good luck getting that back after the U.S. government confiscates it to help bail out our economy. These things have already happened in other countries.

This all sounds pretty bleak and maybe even a little far fetched to some of you I imagine. Do your homework…the evidence is all around you. The NSA spying on us, drones flying over our own cities, U.S. Military training on how to subdue the people in large populated areas like Los Angeles. How about Homeland Security buying 1.6 BILLION rounds of ammo? Now what could they possibly need that much ammo for?

Now, where does God fit into this? Is God going to simply let these things continue on unabated? As a matter of fact yes…He is. God most certainly did not cause this mess, we did it to ourselves collectively as a nation.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     The trouble all began with the removal of God; the removal of God from U.S. society. God if anything is a Gentleman…He will not force Himself on us. We as I said have collectively as a nation booted God out the front door and slammed it shut behind Him. I say collectively because there are many of us who do not at all like this change in our country. Problem is it seems that the majority want nothing at all to do with God because they are busy pursuing their own agenda and freedoms.

God can and will allow this, that does not mean that these actions will go unpunished. What is the punishment? The fall of the U.S. from grace, this country has been blessed greatly in the past, and part of that reason is our support of Israel. We need to realize that even God’s own chosen people Israel were punished most severely many times by God for disobeying Him. Therefore as long as the U.S. continues down this road of flagrant disregard for God and His precepts, things will continue to worsen until this country repents of it’s evil.

Worse yet, people have invented their own notion, of who god should be, and when you start defining god on your terms and not His, then God ceases to be god and is no god at all! God MUST be defined on His terms, not ours. In the Bible, God very clearly lays out exactly who He is, what He thinks, how He acts, and what His expectations are for us.

The U.S. and many other countries however have decided that they know better than God what is good and what is not. The New World Order is exactly that; a new order that throws God under the bus and embraces the concept of ME first, last, and always. People notably the Illuminati…have decided that they posses greater wisdom than God. Unfortunately even churches have joined in advancing this cause, the NWO. Churches have no business supporting in any way what God has decreed as wrong, such as homosexuality, let alone installing these individuals as the head elder…the pastor. The Illuminati, the NWO and those who serve them are nothing more than tools for the god of this world, Satan.

Can any of these things that are occurring be stopped? Yes as a matter of fact they can be.

2 Chronicles 7:14 states“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land”

If we the people of the United States do not enact the requirements of the above verse, then most assuredly all hell will break loose in this country on a scale never before seen or imagined. Remember the people of Israel were taken into captivity because of their sin, do you imagine God will do any less to us? The U.S. has easily surpassed the level of disobedience committed by ancient Israel. Add to that fact that the U.S. is now pressuring Israel to accept a deal completely in violation of God’s Word, splitting up land belonging rightfully to Israel as God’s chosen people. These lands were given to God’s people, and God Himself said these lands were not to be divided!

Let us pray that a revival would come upon this country, that many people who are not Believers in Christ as well would be awakened from their imposed slumber to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savoir. Time is short and there is much work to be done…lets be about God’s business while we still have time.

God bless you all
Greg

Christmas: The Day Hope Was Born into the World

For may people, Christmas means a lot of things. For some, it means lots of shopping, traveling, and scrambling all over town to get those special gifts for special people. For others, it may mean getting together with family that they are unable to see throughout the year. These are great things. There is nothing wrong with wanting to get special people gifts. It is greatly important as well to spend time with family. However, Christmas marks a day much more important than gifts or family. It celebrates the day that God sent Hope back into the world.

Picture this. From the time the prophet Malachi, which is the last recorded Old Testament book, to the time of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) there was 400 years of silence. God’s chose Israel as His chosen people. Starting with Abraham, God promised a linage that would never perish and would bless all people. Abraham descendants were enslaved by Egypt for over 400 years, when God sent a leader, Moses, to bring them out of Egypt. After leaving the bondage of Egypt, Israel remained faithful to God for a time. Unfortunately, the longer Israel lived around the pagan nations, the more they grew into to practices of those nations. They eventually started worshipping and serving dead idols rather than the one, true living God. God began sending prophets to various parts of Israel. Those prophets began speaking the words of God and pleading for people to turn back to the Lord. Eventually Israel, was broke into two nations (Israel and Judah). Israel was wiped out by the Assyrians and Judah was taken into captivity by Babylon for 70 years. The prophets began giving snapshots of a Messiah that was to come and lead God’s people and save them. After the people of Judah were liberated from Babylon, the people turned back to God. But their worship to God became nothing more than dead religion. So with the last of the prophets, Malachi, God did not speak to Israel for almost 400 years.

The people of Israel, however, still held on to the hope of the coming Messiah. Although the Pharisees of that time taught hypocrisy, there were still those in Israel who were looking forward to the coming Messiah. Then one day, prophecy started being fulfilled. The forerunner of Messiah spoken about in Isaiah, “A voice is calling, ‘Clear the way for the Lord in the wilderness; make smooth in the desert a highway for our God” (Isaiah 40:3), John the Baptist, was born. Not too much later, Jesus, conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born in Bethlehem by the virgin Mary, in a manager because there was no place in the town inn. This fulfilled the Scripture that said, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor,Mighty God,Everlasting Father,Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). Hope came back into the world when Jesus was born. Jesus came and ministered to all of Israel, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again three days later from the grave, overcoming death. He not only paid the ransom for Israel, but opened up the door of salvation to all who believe in His name an turn from their sin. He now seated at the right hand of God and He will return for His Church.

Jesus came in the most humble of ways. He came as a baby. He didn’t come in with an army. He didn’t come in as a conquering king. He came as a baby, in human form, to relate to us and give us hope that once seemed lost. So this Christmas season, really reflect on the fact that Jesus chose to step out of divinity, and live as a human only to be hung on a cross for the sin of the world. I encourage you to read the Birth of Christ in the book of Matthew and Luke. When you are unwrapping your gifts, spending time with family, and eating hearty meals, remember Jesus this year. Jesus is the reason for the season. Truly.

Count the Cost: What It Means to Follow Jesus

Jesus gave many commands and teachings during His ministry here on earth that the Bible accounts for in the Gospels. Many of those commands and teachings are very easy to take in. For example, Jesus says, “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). That’s sounds pretty good doesn’t it? I know in my life personally that I find myself weary of everyday life and would appreciate rest. So that commandment, teaching, promise, whatever you want to call it, sounds pretty good to me. Jesus also says, “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). Pretty easy to accept, right?

However, Jesus also says some things that are pretty hard to swallow. “But I tell you who hear Me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you” (Luke 6:27-28). Woah, hold on a second. What did Jesus just say? Love my enemies? Pray for those who mistreat me? No, He couldn’t have said that right? I have to actually love them? I have to pray for them? As crazy or backwards that command seems to us, Jesus meant it. Jesus did not say, be nice to them or don’t be mean to your enemies. He said love them. Jesus didn’t say, wish well for those who mistreat you, He said pray for them. You may say, “There is no way I could do this, Jesus must not really understand what He’s asking.” Doesn’t He? Jesus portrayed this command no better than when He was on the cross. Jesus cried out to God while He was on the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). While Jesus was being crucified, suffering the consequence for OUR SIN, He asked God to forgive those who were crucifying Him. Jesus continues to pray on our behalf, if we are maintaining a relationship with Him, for God to forgive us of our sin (Romans 8:34).

Another teaching that sounds pretty crazy to us can be found in the Sermon on the Mount. This is probably one of the most important teachings Jesus gives us. During this sermon, Jesus says, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you” (Matthew 5:11-12). So I’m supposed to rejoice and be glad when I am suffering? My reward is great in heaven when I am persecuted for my faith in Christ? According to Jesus, and many other writers in the Bible, this is true. This flies completely against what the modern “Christian” message that is taught today, especially in the America. So many today want to follow Jesus, or accept Jesus, but they do not want to have to do anything that will cause them to be uncomfortable. Many want the blessing from Jesus, but do not want to suffer. Many want to reap the rewards of heaven, but don’t want to do any sowing themselves. The Bible is very clear; you reap what you sow. If you are in Christ, and are “making every effort to add to your faith” (2 Peter 1:5), then we as a believer in Jesus Christ you will have an inheritance in heaven. If you are not, you do not have that security in God.

Jesus tells us to count the cost of being His disciple. Jesus gives the illustration that if you were to sit down and build a tower, would you not sit down first and calculate whether or not you have the means and funds to build that tower? How absolutely ridiculous would it look if you started that tower, then halfway through you had to stop because you didn’t have the means to finish it? That would be foolish! That is what Jesus is saying in Luke 14:25-34. Jesus is essentially saying, “If you are going to be my disciple, you need to know what I taught, and decide in your heart whether you are going to follow through with all My commands.” When Jesus says, “whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:27), He means that if you don’t share in my suffering (carry your cross) and follow me (follow my commands, live as He did, share in suffering), then you can not be His disciple.

When you pursue righteousness, you better expect to face opposition and persecution. Now, at first glance that does not sound encouraging. But Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) Jesus has overcome everything (the world) by His victory on the cross. We can share in that victory by staying faithful to Jesus.

Jesus also says, “You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.” (Matthew 10:22) Nobody likes to be disliked or likes to have hardships, but don’t be discouraged if you face trouble while pursuing God! You have a promise from God Himself that He will be with you always and you will partake with Him in heaven for standing firm until the end! (Matthew 10:22 & Matthew 28:20) Remember that God sees everything that happens to you in advance. He knows what you are going through and wouldn’t allow you to be in a situation that you couldn’t overcome. He will give you everything you need to come out victorious! “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)

I want to encourage you to really count the cost of being a disciple of Jesus Christ. There are many other teachings that Jesus gave that I did not mention. Many of those commands are very easy to apply to our lives; others may be a hard to apply. But I promise you, if you devote the time to allow Jesus to come into your heart and teach you His way, you will find delight in obeying His commands. Maybe you are a new Christian and need somewhere to start reading. Maybe you aren’t a Christian at all and aren’t really sure about this whole “Jesus thing”. Take some time to read through the Gospel accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Really pay attention and focus on the teachings Jesus gives His disciples. The promises Jesus gives are not full of worldly riches, comfort, and pleasure, but they are full of love, hope, and eternal life. You will face hard times in this life, but if you remain true to Jesus and follow His commands, you will be with Him forever in Heaven one day. I pray that God will speak to you and truly work His Spirit in your life everyday.

“If you love Me, you will obey My commandments”~ John 14:15

Do We Really Understand Forgiveness?

Let me ask a question. Do we understand what it means to forgive? I mean really? Do we? The word used in the Bible for forgive or forgiveness is aphiēmiAphiēmi literally means to send away, disregard, to depart, leave behind, abandon. There are many other ways it is used, but are you seeing the impact of the word? The Bible says we are to forgive one another of our wrongs, both to each other and ones that are committed to others. That lie that your best friend said about you that embarrassed you in front of everyone, Jesus says to forgive them. Disregard that incident. Leave it behind. What about that thief that stole the only money you had to pay for your bills? Forgive them, abandon the trespass, send it away. I could go on with example after example and make a list of “what you should forgive others of”, but you see the point. As followers of Christ, Jesus expects us to forgive anyone no matter what they have done. Does that make the actions that caused offense right? Absolutely not. But understand this, just because you forgive someone doesn’t mean that you are acknowledging what was done is right. That is not what forgiveness is. Forgiveness is so much more powerful than that. Forgiveness essentially says, “it is very clear that what has went down is wrong, it’s not fair, it is not right at all, but instead of remembering it and harboring bitterness or anger, you choose to forget about it. Let is pass. Abandon the trespass as if it never happened.” By understanding what forgiveness is, it makes the entire concept of forgiving someone so much more real. Even though what has happened is wrong, Jesus says you must forgive.

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” ~Matthew 6:14-15

Jesus really didn’t beat around the bush in this Scripture, nor does He ever. Jesus Himself says that if do not forgive others of their trespasses or sins against us, God will not forgive us of all trespasses or sin against Him. We are so quick to receive the grace of Jesus Christ openly anytime it appeals to us, but what about when the tables are turned? Are as quick to extend that same grace to others? I know in my life, I haven’t always been. It’s easier to think that I am right, the other person is wrong, and just stay bitter at them. The problem with that is you never live in freedom that way. At least not fully. I heard this quote once and it has really spoke to me in this area. “We actually lose more than we win when we choose not to extend forgiveness to someone.” What do we lose? Freedom, relationships, peace, and as Jesus warns possibly our salvation.  By choosing not to swallow our pride and going to whoever has offended you and offering forgiveness, we lose any relationship we have with that person, there is no peace in our hearts when that individual is around or mentioned, there is no happiness. We are trapped. I’ve said it before, but I think that unforgiveness is one of the most deadly sins that can ever enter our hearts. I heard my friend once say “when you don’t forgive, its like taking poison and expecting the other person to die – the longer you hold on to it the more damage it does to your mind and body.”

“Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” ~Luke 23:34

Jesus forgave those who were literally killing them. He didn’t hold their trespasses against them. He forgave them. He prayed for them. He loved them and still wanted them to receive eternal life with them. Jesus never once wanted to hold resentment in His heart to those people who had did Him wrong. So as His disciples who in the world can we ever expect to live different than Jesus? A disciple literally lives like their master, experiences the same things, says the same things. Jesus died to sin, so we must die to sin. Jesus loved, so we must love. Jesus forgave, so we must forgive.

Mike Donehey, the lead singer of Tenth Avenue North, posted a video about forgiveness that I drew a lot of thought from and I think it really illustrates forgiveness well. I’m attaching the video below.

I want to encourage you to make the effort to seek out those areas in your life that may be marred by bitterness and unforgiveness. Jesus wished to heal those scars and desires that you live in harmony with those who offended you. Your act of forgiveness could be a key factor in someone decided to accept Jesus. If they already know Jesus, it can push them closer to you and to God as well. Don’t allow that biterness to stay harbored in your heart. As stated before, Jesus claims that you put your own salvation at risk by choosing not to forgive. Nothing of this earth is worth that. Everything on this earth will pass away, but Jesus is forever. Learn to pick and choose what you get angry over. Nothing is so important that forgiveness can’t be extended. That doesn’t mean it will be easy. I’m sure family members of murder, rape, theft, etc, are not so quick to forgive right away. It would be easier to hate, but Jesus says to love. Be blessed today, and may the Lord guide You in forgiveness.

New World Order – Part 4 – Is The Lord Pleased

The word of God has much to say about the concept of a New World Order (NWO)…. We will be studying the NWO and it’s Biblical implications in a four part series…

Part #1 – The NWO – What is it? – Will it take place?

Part #2 – Past attempts at forming a NWO by force (The 7 World Empires)

Part #3 -  Past attempts at forming a NWO by consensus (The Tower of Babel)

Part #4 -  The Future NWO – Is the Lord pleased?

THE SCRIPTURE:

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (Joh 16:33)

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.  (Isa 53:4-5)

A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psa 103:1-5)

New World Order – 3 – The Tower of Babel

The word of God has much to say about the concept of a New World Order (NWO)…. We will be studying the NWO and it’s Biblical implications in a four part series…

Part #1 – The NWO – What is it? – Will it take place?

Part #2 – Past attempts at forming a NWO by force (The 7 World Empires)

Part #3 -  Past attempts at forming a NWO by consensus (The Tower of Babel)

Part #4 -  The Future NWO – Is the Lord pleased?

THE SCRIPTURE:

And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech…. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city… (Gen 11:1-9)
