Doing Your Best

Do you try to be the best or to do your best? The perfectionist has to be the best. He has to be #1. He can’t accept himself. But I want you to listen to a key verse that deals with perfectionism.

Romans 12:3-5 says, “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.”

The grace of God exalts a man without inflating and it humbles a man without debasing him. The person who has excellence says, I am what I am by the grace of God. Do you value yourself by what you do or by what you are?
