In past years, I had a friend named Paul Anderson. Paul was the strongest man in the world—literally! On one occasion, he lifted 6,270 pounds off the ground with his back. He was the strongest man on earth, but he died at 61 years of age.
Isaiah 40:30 says, “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall.” This verse is talking about you and me. All human strength will utterly, ultimately fail, but the Bible says “though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day” (2 Corinthians 4:16b).
Our question, therefore, is not: What is going to happen to our bodies? Instead it is: Do we have the inner strength God wants us to have?
